Baroch vs The Weed

Baroch
And so it came to pass that again the words were given to Baroch and he heard and understood.  With the Words comes the courage and strength for the world of reality began with the Word.  Baroch’s Father looked on and smiled for He was truly proud of His Son and wished only the best for him.

Baroch thought on these words, words that had echoed for all time through the halls of his memory.  The Word echoed again and the monstrous adversaries inside his being quaked and grew worrisome that perhaps this time their time had come.

Baroch too shook and his whole world trembled with the awesome force of the Word.  He knew these Words, had heard before but not with the inner ear of his being.
Now he shook with fear for surely this was the time for him to hear and give heed, for each soul has only so much time and time was now more than half past.

Baroch determined then to look with the eye in the center of his being to find the face of his Father and once found to not look away lest he again fall prey to those forces and voices that did not hear or see his Father.

Maidens, fair of face and figure, appeared and smiled on Baroch and brought him joy and drink.  Smiles and kind words were laid on him showing the value his Father held for him and for the moment Baroch was at peace inside and outside his being.

Yet Baroch’s peace did not last and as he dwelt on the face of his Father he became ashamed and worrisome.  How could this happen to him?  The people drew back from his scornful countenance and even the sun hid behind the clouds as Baroch’s brooding grew blacker and blacker.  And strangers began to appear to Baroch and some long lost acquaintances arrived to show him some  cheer yet it was all only momentary and soon forgotten.

Baroch’s darkness was doing harm and even as his chosen one trembled within she used harsh words on him and sought to change his mental imagings.  Baroch listened and heard and felt what his Beloved was saying and showing.  His answer to her rage was submission and admission, his answer to her questions, pleas of misunderstanding, his answer to her concern, humor for she was turning to unescapable time things that belonged only in the moment of Now.  Yet in her rage and seriousness and worry she did distract his mind and caused a smile to appear inside and outside his being.

The sun peeked from behind the dark clouds, friends drew near and for a time there was much noise and merrymaking.
And as happened many times to Baroch, when his guards were absent and the doors to his mighty halls were thrown wide, a usurper appeared in the midst of the gala, one sent to test the boy, the man, the King.  Baroch saw  him and heard his words and for a time he removed his being from the merrymaking and went into his halls to confront the usurper.
Baroch looked back and back through his time and his father’s time and to time before that.  The farther he looked the farther he had to look until he looked and saw nought.  Finally here was a time before the Usurper, before the Weed of Wild Dreams.
Then Baroch strode forward and watched the weed first tempt, beguile then possess a person, a people, a land.  When new people came to the land the smoke of the Weed soon overcame them also and the power of the Weed grew.

Now Baroch saw the beginnings of his own time.  Here was the Weed always around him, always filling his being with the smokey siren song that soon had captured him.  And generation after generation came and went all in the company of the smoke.
But it came to pass the Medicine Men came to know the Weed and saw the deaths that it had caused.  They saw also that the Weed remembered these deaths and actually counted them and revelled as the numbers grew and time passed.

The Medicine Men went unto the people saying:
” Behold, this is the Weed that causes death and grief amongst us.  The power of the Weed is great but can be beaten.”
Even unto the children they went.  And for a time and more there were many battles with the weed.  Some won and some lost.  Some saw the need for battle and looked the other way.  Some wailed and moaned because they were weak.  But those who continued the battle found in the victory joy, and talked much to others.  Soon their joy became so powerful that they began closing doors on the Weed and the Smoke, not letting it or anyone under its power in.
So Baroch watched, and readied himself again.

A short time ago he had closed the door on the Weed but when his entire being had hollered for solace he had opened the door and allowed some in.  Now the door was again closed yet as the Usurper pounded on the outside so Baroch’s heart beat on the inside and again the pain brought moans and wails from his being.

Yet as these two grew louder and more intense Baroch heard above the din the sound of something else.  This sound grew and grew until it overpowered all other sounds and Baroch turned to see what manner of creature could cause such turmoil inside and outside his being.  And as he turned he beheld the light of  his friend, his ally who brought with him a host of armed warriors who knew the Weed and the Smoke and had battled and defeated it some time hence.
And Baroch embraced his friend and gave thanks for friendship and light.  And when he again returned from the halls of his inner sactum still the merrymaking raged and Baroch joined in and lightness was in his whole being.

First Thoughts

For my first post to this category I thought I would just share what my thoughts are at this time about beliefs and philosophies.

I spent many years reading and studying religious, metaphysical and philosopy material because I found I was confused about many topics that others are confused about.  I know that many others are as confused as I was due to the high amount of material and the huge number of people over the centuries of human life on this planet who have shared their ideas and beliefs. From the Bible to A Course in Miracles, from Kant to Campbell, from Aristotle to Hawkings the ideas and findings are as varied as the authors.

So what is the truth?  Is there are fundamental truth that is true for each and every one of us, each and every event?  In order for something to be ‘true’ it must, IMHO, be universal meaning equally applicable and equally true no matter what parameters it encompasses.

Now in order for me to sort out the various thoughts and doctrines that I read about and pondered I found that I had to first decide if I agreed or not and then decide how I felt about what I did agree with.  There came a time of ‘unlearning’ and discarding that which I was holding on to because I had been told, and believed, that it was true.

But, this world and many things that were believed at one time to be true is constantly changing.  Now something that changes can not be true for, as I said above “that which is true is always true and does not change”.

In all my reading and studying one books stands above the rest.  A Course in Miracles could easily, I think have been called “A Change In Mind” for this is what I sought and this is what I found.  I will be creating another blog about this as it is a topic unto itself and will share here when it is ready to have visitors.

For now though it’s back to the tutorial and some more learning.
