Category: My Thoughts

So I’ve been following the videos mentioned in an earlier post but I’ve run into a problem!

I wanted to put some widgets in my sidebar but when I choose one of the widgets to include it seems to remove the others like the search. Guess I have to enable all the widgets I wish to see there. I have been using the ‘trial and error’ technique but then I found out that each time I post the page it is pinged to my list. Wonder how to turn this off so I can play around without seeming to be spamming. After all there is really no need of the pinging if I’m just changing things around. Guess it’s probably time to join in a forum and ask some questions.

So, it’s January and my job in the retail sector is going through it’s downtime and shifts are getting cut. This has nothing to do with the ‘economic problems’ or ‘depression’ but is just a fact of retail life that comes around every year. This is not so bad though as I can devote some time to this blog and others that I have.

If you’re reading this then please come back and see what I will be offering as I become more proficient with uploading and linking to useful informative articles, usable tools and some scripts that I will be adding to my site. Oh yeah, and I’ll be adding some more of my creative writing and reading links.

Change in Plight Plans

Though it is Christian related it is also something for men/women/children of any denomination/sect/creed to think about.  In this time of healing for all of us, healing of the environment, the whole earth;  it becomes imperative that we realize that to make the changes we must change the way we think, the way our governments think by first changing the  way we, as individuals, think.

Begin quote:

And this is the only explanation of the dreadful intensity with which men of modern times strive to stupefy themselves, with spirits, tobacco, opium, cards, reading newspapers, traveling, and all kinds of spectacles and amusements. These pursuits are followed up as an important, serious business.

And, indeed they are a serious business. If there were no external means of dulling their sensibilities, half of mankind would shoot themselves without delay, for to live in opposition to one’s reason is the most intolerable condition.

And that is the condition of all men of the present day. All men of the modern world exist in a state of continual and flagrant antagonism between their conscience and their way of life.

This antagonism is apparent in economic as well as political life. But most striking of all is the contradiction between the Christian law of the brotherhood of men existing in the conscience and the necessity under which all men are placed by compulsory military service of being prepared for hatred and murder –

of being at the same time a Christian and a gladiator.
